The Patch Club Meets Every
Wednesday Evening
(during the school year)

Each August we set sail again for another fun year of
learning in Patch the Pirate Club. This children's ministry
built around Ron and Shelly Hamilton's "Patch
the Pirate" series is for those in 1st - 6th grades, during the
school year. Won't you come aboard and join the other sailors
for an exciting and rewarding year in our Patch the Pirate Club?!
Music holds an important place in God's Word as an instrument of praise
and instruction. The focus of Patch the Pirate Club is building
character in the lives of children, using music as the tool.
The children all wear a very simple uniform which includes: a sailor hat,
red sash, white shirt, navy pants/boys, navy skirt/girls, dark socks/boys,
white socks/girls, and dark shoes. This uniform provides unity and
order in our club, along with a sense of belonging to the children.
Then each sailor has a sailor log book with their devotion, fun and
activity pages and verses to learn. For details concerning costs and
uniform specifics please contact Shari
McLaughlin.
At each club meeting, one particular Godly Character Trait will be
emphasized during the rehearsal of the song and during the Bible lesson
time. Basic music theory and musicianship will be taught during a
short learning time called the "music lesson." It is our
goal to help children grow spiritually and have fun doing so!
Our Patch the Pirate Club meets every
Wednesday evening during the school year during the Adult
Bible Study and Prayer Service, from 7:00 - 8:00
P.M. The Patch choir sings in church once a month (including a short
skit each child throughout the year gets to participate in), with a
special Christmas program in December and a closing Awards Concert in May.
In addition to being for our children, their are several ministry
opportunities for adults in Patch. Our Club has several captains who
help run the ministry including, a director captain, pianist captain, two
records captains, one verse captain, a patch dad story captain, and a mom
party captain. We currently run about 65 in attendance, including
our helpers. Our fifth and sixth graders (C.P.O.'s & Commanders)
help within the group by collecting and passing out books, pencils, and
helping the younger sailors when needed.
